How to Use an SDF Technical Drawing Kit:

The SDF Technical Drawing Kit offers a streamlined approach to constructing your desired bar, combining user-friendly organization with basic fabrication skills to enable budget-friendly construction. To make the most of this kit, follow these steps:

CAD Files:

  • Start by accessing the DXF files, which are stored in a dedicated folder. These DXF files are specifically designed for easy sharing of drawing data. Send this folder to a local laser cutting business to have all the necessary pieces precisely cut. Within this folder, you'll also find an Excel spreadsheet containing crucial information such as quantities and material thicknesses.

Bending Files:

  • Inside the Bending Files folder, you'll discover dimensioned technical drawings for each part that requires bending. These drawings are provided in PDF format. Send this folder, along with the pieces you received from the laser cutting service, to a local fabricating business. Most laser cutting establishments offer a bending service as well. These drawings provide essential bending reference information, including angles, positions, and sequences.

Component, Fastener, Material Files:

  • This folder, containing multiple Excel spreadsheets, is for your personal reference. It outlines all the information necessary for component, fastener, and material procurement. You'll find details about the components, fasteners, and materials you need, along with the quantities required. Additionally, the folder provides guidance on where to source or purchase these items.

Build Instruction Files + Assembly Drawing Files:

  • In this folder, you'll find comprehensive dimensioned technical drawings that serve as step-by-step instructions for fabricating and assembling your bar. Presented in PDF format, these drawings offer a detailed guide from start to finish. This folder acts as an instruction manual, presented in a technical drawing format. It includes:

  • Step-by-step sequences: Clear instructions to guide you through the construction process.

  • Bill of materials lists for each sequence: A breakdown of the required materials and components for each step.
